Position Overview

As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDI), you will play a critical role in reviewing and enhancing clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding requirements. This part-time remote position offers you the flexibility to manage your own schedule while being part of a supportive and innovative team.

Key Responsibilities

Review medical records and clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify and improve the documentation.
Identify opportunities for improvement in documentation and provide guidance to clinical staff.
Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with CDI practices and regulations.
Maintain detailed records of reviews and feedback provided.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

Certification as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS).
At least 2 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement or medical coding.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation software.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
