Position Overview

As a Hobbing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating hobbing machines to produce complex gears and other precision components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues. You will work closely with other operators and engineers to ensure that production goals are met efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hobbing machines to manufacture gears and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications.
• Monitor machine operations for adherence to production standards and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
• Previous experience operating hobbing machines or similar CNC equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Familiarity with quality control standards and measurement tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule

This position typically entails a full-time schedule with potential overtime availability. We operate on a 3-shift system to meet production demands:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
